General Information for Bachelor and Master Students

Scientists at the Department of Botany and Biodiversity Research predominantly contribute to the Bachelor study program Biology (including the new program for Biology teachers), and to the research-oriented Master programs Botany, Nature Conservation and Biodiversity Management (in German), and Ecology and Ecosystems.

Within the Bachelor program Biology, apart from being intensively engaged in lecturing during the first two entrance semesters, we offer modules and courses in the subject specializations Plant Sciences (module group B-BPF) and Ecology track (module group B-BOE) in the 2nd and 3rd study year. In these subjects students can also choose among a range of courses to complete their Bachelor thesis.

In the three master programs, students have the opportunity to further specialize into their fields of interest, acquire expertise with a broad range of state-of-the-art methods, and gain experience with scientific research at an internationally competitive level.
